lavenderblue19
This is a cutsey early '60's film. A couple of guesses would be appreciated. Let's recap. Husband is a photographer. Beautiful blonde wife feels she's being ignored. Her girlfriend is a model who is jealous of her marriage. Wife asks her blonde, beautiful French mother for advice. Mother gives her some outlandish advice which she follows. Husband catches on, gets his father to come to their home and pretend to be her lover. She's never met her father-in-law so that plot is feasible (LOL)

lavenderblue19
Yes and Cesar Romero as the father-in-law. I knew you and cujas would know this one.Wish this one would go back into tcm rotation. allaboutlana
Thanks for the guess, but no. The father still has feelings for his ex, but she has remarried. When the father arrives, he invites himself and make himself comfortable in the husband's office/den, because the view is better there than in the guest bedroom. allaboutlana
Any guesses? Another clue: The new husband, and stepfather, is out done obviously by having his desk and all of his stuff moved. They have a Chinese cook who laughs at almost everything the father of the bride says to him. It's a running joke in the movie. And, the actress, who plays the young bride-to-be, just had a birthday recently.

allaboutlana
Thanks A stage actress supports an ungrateful, eccentric family. (I will say it is not a Jean Harlow film.) Edited by: allaboutlana on Apr 6, 2011 2:34 PM
lavenderblue19
*The Star* - Bette Davis? although I think she was an aging film actress, I'll give it a shot aanyway.
allaboutlana
No, much older film, with an uprising star who would own a studio and start their own long tv career. Also, in this movie, the stage actress meets a good-looking guy who helps her get out of the crazed crowd around her. But then she has him arrested for pestering her, after he admits he's been following her for weeks to meet her. Of course, they meet again and he tries to convert her to his way of looking at life.
