In the 1936 movie, "The Poor Little Rich Girl", Alice Faye sings a song called "When I'm With You". A line from the song is "Please let me make this confession, you are my magnificent obsession". That refers to the 1935 movie "Magnificent Obsession" with Irene Dunne and Robert Taylor. It was an adaptation of a book by Lloyd C. Douglas, who also wrote the screenplay. It was remade in 1954 with Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson. It's the 1954 version that most people are familiar with. It's a soap opera if there ever was one, with a very implausible plot. In the story, the young man goes to medical school so he can help find a cure for the woman whom he injured. In real life, Robert Taylor's mother came down with an, at the time, incurable illness. His father went to medical shool so he could learn how to find a cure for his wife. Guess what? It worked.

Yes Lavender it was Laura. I posted before that 48 to 72 hours without a reply and someone else can take the thread if it's mine. I keep a weird schedule and go on mission trips once a month, however I still like to participate. Seems you are irked with me and I am sorry about the delay. I will try to keep better tabs on the topics I post about.
