MilesArcher
It's a truly funny movie. It's hard to believe that they got away with as much as they did in this film. I loved Betty Hutton as Trudy Kockenlocker and Eddie Bracken was great, as well. Now, there was a song that was introduced in another movie that Betty Hutton was in, although she did not sing it, that became a hit years later for legendary singer Slim Whitman. Of course, lots of other people recorded it too. Can you name the song, the movie where it was introduced, and who sang it in that movie?
mudskipper
Betty Hutton's first feature film was the movie "The Fleet's In", with Dorothy Lamour, William Holden, and Eddie Bracken. The movie not only introduced Betty Hutton, but also the song"I Remember You" by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer. It was performed by Lamour, the vocalists Bob Eberle and Helen O'Connell, and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. It later became a hit for yodelers Slim Whitman and the Australian Frank Field, who were both more popular in Great Britain than in the U.S. Frank Field's version:...http://youtu.be/g3iXfd5tlmc Slim Whitman:...http://youtu.be/SXOcRe7E5kA
MilesArcher
Actually, the Australian singer's name was Frank Ifield, that's I-F-I-E-L-D, but I doubt that anyone remembers him now. God job, Muddy. Yes, it was one of the few movie appearances for Helen O'Connell and Bob Eberle. Here they are with the Dorothy and Jimmy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeaTkxbvwwY Now it's your turn, skip. DownGoesFrazier
I remember the name "Frank Ifield". I used to study the WIBG top 99 charts when I was a little kid. I also remember names such as Ivo Robic and Mr. Acker Bilk.
