Edythevanhopper
Hi Ho! Silver, the trusted horse of the Lone Ranger appeared in a late '30s film as the unlucky steed required to cause a fatal fall of his rider. Can you name the movie? Daisysmama
I think you're referring to "Silver Chief" the horse rode by Thomas Mitchell in "Gone With the Wind" *A few of the urban myths about Silver:* Some sources say Clayton's first Silver from the Hooker Ranch is the same white horse that Thomas Mitchell rode in "Gone With The Wind". The truth is: the white horse in Gone With The Wind was actually "Silver Chief" from the Hudkin Brothers Stables. Silver Chief had portrayed Silver in the 1938 and 1940 Republic Serials, "The Lone Ranger" and "The Lone Ranger Rides Again". Thus, it was a "Silver" but not Clayton's TV "Silver http://www.ranger.riverviewparkdsm.com/silver.htm
