He did not think that the male star was the right actor for the part and did not get along with him and, in fact, never worked with him again. A supporting actress in the film, who won an Oscar for her role, went on record as saying that the male star was no fun to work with. Another actress who was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress played the male star’s mother and was in actuality only 12 years older than he was.
