The Lady Eve
A young woman is on her way to her wedding. She hasn't met her intended husband yet, and on her trip she meets and befriends a group traveling the same route. When she finally arrives at her destination and meets her intended...well, it isn't love at first sight...
The Lady Eve
So the two don?t get married. She discovers that her former fiance?s love letters were written by someone else?someone more intriguing, younger and sexy in a bad-boy way?but they don?t get along? (...Metz, is it possible for you to delete that picture? The size seems to have distorted the view on the thread)

The Lady Eve
Metz, no apology necessary...as to resizing, I don't know much about handling photos on this site. Not a big deal... Here's the current movie w/clues to-date, plus more info. How about a guess or two?? A young woman is on her way to her wedding. She hasn't met her intended husband yet, and on her trip she meets and befriends a group traveling the same route. When she finally arrives at her destination and meets her intended...well, it isn't love at first sight... So the two don?t get married. She discovers that her former fiance?s love letters were written by someone else?someone more intriguing, younger and sexy in a bad-boy way?but they don?t get along? Our girl needs work so, through her friendship with those she met on her journey, she gets a job. She and her co-workers endure a rivalry with the town floozies. (she sings a catchy, zippy, Oscar winning song?) Message was edited by: theladyeve

The Lady Eve
It's *The Harvey Girls*... The Oscar-winning ?On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe? dominated radio during summer/fall 1945 ? the most popular version spent 7 straight weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts and for 8 straight weeks on ?Your Hit Parade.? visualfeast, you've done it again - and the thread is yours... visualfeast
Thanks, LadyEve... Here's another one: This film was probably the first to delve into the actual workings of the police department in solving a murder case...what we now know as CSI. It featured a young actor from a neighboring country and a character actress know for her wry humor.

visualfeast
not naked... This film deals with events taking part on the other side of the country...LA in the fifties, when there were still remnants of an earlier smog-free age. Elements are a minor romance, a birdcage and a telephone number scribbled on a wall...
Kid Dabb
metz - try this (Example) <img src=http://s266.photobucket.com/albums/ii243/oldpackard/ height =400 width =300> Just tag *height =400 width =300* onto the end of your picture URL line . Make sure you get the spaces in there as in the above example. Very important. Playing around with the numbers will shrink or enlarge your pic. FredCDobbs
Remove the slash mark after ".jpg", and leave a blank space before "height". And change 400 to 225. Your movie is "We Are Not Alone", with Paul Muni and Flora Robson, 1939. Message was edited by: FredCDobbs

It featured a young actor from a neighboring country and a character actress know for her wry humor. The movie you are thinking about is Ricardo Montalban in ?Mystery Street? from 1950. It takes place up around Boston. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042771/

The telephone number is scribbled on her apartment house wall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mystery_Street
