cujas
When the couple return to their apt some things have been disturbed. The male actor is a British pro and the female is an American Movie Star--very beautiful.
cujas
The actor was married to one of Hollywood's biggest (English) stars and the actress, then a big star, went on to become a big star on TV. The movie is a mystery/comedy.
cujas
Remember the film takes place in Greenwich Village in the '40's and the film is a mystery/comedy from a studio famous for 2 things: quality and cheapness.

Poinciana
Thanks Cujas, I was away from my computer when a bolt of Loretta lightning hit and then it was just a bit of doing fun research from there. Next: A young woman from a perfect 50's family is about to graduate from high school. She has two younger sisters and the family is about to become the proud owners of a television set. MilesArcher
Well, there's "The Man In The Iron Mask" and "The Corsican Brothers". Both were from stories by Alexander Dumas and both have been done several times, but I'll dismiss them because the men were twins separated at birth. There's "I Was Monty's Double" with Clifton James, "Dave", with Kevin Kline, and "Calloway Went Thataway" with Howard Keel. There's even a segment in Mel Brooks' "History Of The World, Part 1" that fits the situation. Who knows how many others there are? I think we need a more detailed clue. DownGoesFrazier
We certainly do. None of the guesses are correct. The two men are lookalikes. One is a good guy. The other is a bad guy. Edited by: finance on Sep 4, 2010 10:04 AM
