cmvgor
Thanks, skipper. A fun title here, a little difficult to clue up, but I'll try. A New York City woman, in the middle of an argument with her husband, retreats to their Connecticut country home. Exhausted, fearful of not being able to sleep, she mixes a powerful sedative, drinks about half. Goes and prepares for bed, then comes back and falls asleep immediately. A man, on the run from NYC after committing a theft. comes into her house when his car breaks down. Thirsty, he drinks the rest of the sleeping potion, and he, too is soon asleep. Her husband, having followed her from NYC to continue their discussion arrives, and finds them there. Late 60s. Color. Comedy. cmvgor
The husband looks over the scene. he sits down and puts a match between the sleeper's toes and lights it. The sleeper stirs, sits up and clumsily holds his foot up to his face and manages to blow out the fire. Stranger: "Did you do that?" Husband: "Yes." Stranger: "Why'd you do that?" Husband: (points to his sleeping wife) "Ask her." Stranger: (shakes the woman beside him) "Someone wants to ask you something." Goes back to sleep This story takes place against the background of an actual event. -- A widespread loss of electric power in the American Northeast.
