I am so sick of these left wing cooks trying to instill their political ideas and wishes on the public. First Michael Moore with his bag of lies and now Stone. Stone is a great Director, to bad he has to lower himself to something like this. Can't they just make movies anymore without bring in political lies.

Well, the right has Swing Vote coming up, which stars just about every republican Hollywood has to offer.

Look, every person in power has to know that Stone will come after them, given time and a compelling story. I don't plan to see this one either. He's only made a couple I liked and most of the rest are just him, blowing hard.

New 'W' trailer: A walk on the wild side with Bush

05:40 PM PT, Jul 28 2008

It was just a couple of weeks ago that conservative commentators were all saying that liberals were humorless dolts, offering as Exhibit A the outraged reaction to the New Yorker's hilarious Barack Obama as Muslim terrorist cover cartoon. So I'm betting those same commentators will heartily embrace Lionsgate's first teaser trailer for Oliver Stone's "W," which just posted today on YouTube (with the admonition: "This is not a fake"), focusing on the young Dubya, acting like he's starring in a boozy remake of "Old School."

The reason "W" got turned down at every big studio in town wasn't because anyone was politically nervous about making the movie--Bush is too unpopular today to worry even the most timid Hollywood studio chief. In fact, the studio that came closest to saying yes was the Rupert Murdoch owned 20th Century Fox, which figured that having Fox release a wild-eyed anti-Bush movie would cause so much buzz that it would be a unique marketing ingredient unto itself.

The real worry has always been that the story itself was HBO docudrama material, with too many talky scenes set in White House war rooms. The Lionsgate trailer shrewdly explodes that notion. It opens with Dubya (played by Josh Brolin) being dressed down by his dad ("I remember correctly, you didn't like the sporting goods job...") before careening off into hard-partying, tail-chasing territory, ending up with the infamous drunken-driving incident that prompts another stern lecture from Bush Sr. (played by James Cromwell), who says derisively: "Who do you think you are, a Kennedy? You're a Bush. Act like one." To make sure we get the point, the scenes are accompanied by George Thorogood's version of the roadhouse standard "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer."

The music then shifts to the serene "It's a Wonderful World," which plays as the trailer poses a question that could perhaps make us curious enough to see the movie in a theater. It asks: "What Drove George W. Bush ... From Here ..." (Dubya brawling with his old man) "To Here?" (Dubya in the Oval Office, cowboy boots cockily propped up on his desk). Movie executives always preach, ad nauseam, that a successful film needs a hero who overcomes a series of obstacles, making him a very different person at film's end from what he was at the beginning. "W" sounds like it fits the bill quite nicely, as long as you grade on a curve when it comes to the part about overcoming the obstacles.

Personally, I like buffalo-wing cooks best.

I, for one, feel sorry for Bush. Yes, he made some mistakes, but he really isn't as bad as people make him out to be. I mean, for crying out loud, people blame him for everything. He's been blamed for the fall of the Roman empire and the sinking of Atlantis and the death of JFK. The blame that George W. Bush has recieved is completely ridiculous.

I would like to take it one step further. George Bush and his administration, the FBI/CIA and homeland security have thwarted over twenty terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 911: at JFK airport, Ft. Dix, Miami seaports, Chicago skyscraper, downtown L.A., the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. Many, many thousands of citizens could have been killed if someone else was at the helm. Every american should thank Mr. Bush for keeping all of us safe from demonic animals who want to destroy you and your children/relatives. GB is not perfect... and neither is any of us whether you are to the left, right, liberal, or whatever.

Oh, and by the way, saddam hussein tested his chemical weapons on his own people in 1988, the kurds, and killed sixty thousand of them in one day. He testified during his trial that he was getting ready to rebuild his stockpile of chemical weapons for use against whomever he chose.

Previous poster has IT right! Almost all of the anti-war Loons are quite a lot like Stone, drug users and cowards who CAN'T fight any wars! Stone was drafted and has admitted to being a serious drug user in 'Nam. Bush has prevailed against al Qaeda AND the Hollywood left and most of the MSM! Also the 'cut n run' cowards in the Congress and the Senate. Job well done!!!

Any government which assumes that the population is going to do something evil has

already lost its franchise to govern. The tacit contract between a government and the

people governed is that the government will trust the people and the people will trust the

government. But once the government begins to mistreat the people it is governing, it

loses its mandate to rule because it is no longer acting as a spokesman for the people,

but is acting as an agent of persecution. -hillip K. Dick

If the government doesn't trust the people, why doesn't it overthrow them and elect a

new people? Bert Brecht

Sorry, nodgnoc, but, most of your supposed "facts" are nothing but one person's opinion. All these

"facts" are typical leftist attacks on Bush. At least half of what you wrote has no basis in reality. No one man could do all those things by himself in a lifetime. The truth is that congress is the one

that's at fault for most of your information. Besides, you gave no references which means that your

supposed information could not possibly be true. So if I were you I would quit talking nonsense.

*They should show Oliver Stone's _W._ as a double feature W./the film: _Omen III: The Final Conflict_ (the film charts the progress of the now-adult Damien Thorn to a position of earthly power (becoming United States ambassador to the United Kingdom with an eye on the U.S. Presidency) as a springboard for triggering the Apocalypse.).....This would make it worth seeing it!*
