Here?s a GREAT resource for hard-to-find old movies ? Eddie Brandt?s Saturday Matinee, located in Los Angeles.

They don?t have their own website (?) but they do have tons of videos for sale and rent (DVD for sale only), plus one of the largest posters and stills collections around. And not only do they have everything, they KNOW everything. It is a family run business (closed Sundays and Mondays) that has been around for years. Ask for Donovan or Heidi. They are very friendly, although always very swamped with requests. That?s because people in the industry go to them when researching material ? ?I need some old films where the dish runs away with the spoon? and bingo! they?ve got a handful of selections for you. Often people will ask for movies out of print or never in print, and their reply is usually not ?sorry, can?t help you? but rather ?sorry, that?s out of print, but we have a tv copy we can let you borrow for free when you rent something else?. They do rentals by the half week and full week (their policy long before standard at video chains) and are a perfect source for people out of the area as they routinely deal with rentals via mail.
