AD, I don't believe I've seen these images of Hedy Lamarr before. No offense but you may want to get into the art of cropping the pictures for a sharper look.

It took practice for me to learn how to do it.

Mongo, that picture of Primo Carnera reminds us of just how huge he was! I assume Jean was a normal sized woman and even with high heels on look how tiny she is next to him.

I like the movie The Harder They Fall and I think that giant Mike Lane who played Toro in it was abt the size of Primo.

Mongo! The Lone Ranger unmasked? Oh, no! My life will never be the same! :-( lol

The old cobbler shop, that once upon a time was around the corner from me, had a pair of Primo Carnera's shoes in his window. That big man, and though this should go it without saying I'll say it, had HUGE feet! lol

April 14 will be Gloria Jean's 83rd birthday. Gloria was one of the most charming and talented stars of the 1940's. She is still doing well and has a great website:

http://www.gloriajeanchildstar.com/

Here's where to find her IMDb listing:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0419849/

There is also an excellent and highly recommended book on Gloria called "Gloria Jean: A Little Bit of Heaven" by Scott and Jan MacGillivray. Check it out here:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0595674542/internetmoviedat/

http://www.iuniverse.com/Bookstore/BookSearchResults.aspx?Title=gloria+jean&

Mongo, can you find and post some nice pictures of Gloria, as we all wish her a very Happy Birthday!

Now, if only TCM could deal with Universal to get Gloria's wonderful but unjustly hard-to-find movies out there...
