Terrence1
Thanks, Lavender. When approached by Warner Brothers to star in a remake of a popular movie, this actor would only consider starring in the movie if his character did not died at the end, which is what happened in the original. Name the actor in the remake, the name of the movie, and the male featured in the original.
mr6666
F. Sinatra in *Young at Heart* ('54) "The character of the self-destructive Barney Sloan was originally written to die at the end of the film when Sloan drives into on-coming traffic during a snow-storm. Sinatra, whose characters in his two previous films (From Here to Eternity [1953] and Suddenly [1954]) perished at the end, thought Sloan should live and find happiness. Sinatra's growing influence in Hollywood was enough to have the ending re-written to accommodate his wishes." -John Garfield played 'Sloan' in 1938 film "Four Daughters".
