Terrence1
Thanks, Finance. I knew the answer to the first one, but the clue about a color in the title helped me with the second. What is the first movie to be shown in the White House?

MilesArcher
Thanks. Speaking of the Disney studio, they got the top crooner of all time, Bing Crosby, to lend his voice to an animated film. Can you name that film? Can you name it without any research?
Edythevanhopper
Are the research police going to appear and say come with us...Hope not. The little research I did was to look up an old record that belonged to an aunt. She had a version of Katrina by Bing Crosby....Ichabod Crane?? MilesArcher
Yes, in 1949, Disney released an animated film that had two stories, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", which was narrated by Bing Crosby, and "The Wind In The Willows", which featured the voice of Eric Blore as Mr. Toad. I believe the title of the film was something like "The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad. You're certainly welcome to do research, Edythe. I was just wondering if someone knew it just from memory. Now, as I've said many times before, it's your turn now, Edy.
Edythevanhopper
Thanks Miles...I looked it up after you answered. See what you know about this: A comedy of 1942 had a role for a handyman The role went to the actor from the Broadway play upon the request of the star. He and his leading lady couldn't get through the scenes without laughing at him. What film and who were the players?
starliteyes
George Washington Slept Here with Jack Benny and Ann Sheridan. The handyman was played by Percy Kilbride.

starliteyes
Well, thanks for teaching me a new word, Edythevanhopper. I had to look wheelhouse up and now I can add it to my vocabulary. And I agree; George Washington Slept Here is an enjoyable movie with a great cast. On to the next challenge: This movie would have had the only spanking received by this child star if it hadn't been cut prior to release. Can you name the movie and child star? starliteyes
Another hint: The original story was about a boy, but the gender was changed to a girl to accommodate the child star.

Terrence1
These two contract players at MGM made a mystery/comedy together. The original plan was to make a series of mysteries with these two actors, but it never came about. Name the two stars and the movie.
