starliteyes
This 1930's musical was remade twice, first in the 40's and then in the 50's. The leading man in each of them played a dual role and had two female co-stars. Name the 3 movies and the male star. If you feel really ambitious, go ahead and name the 2 female co-stars in each. lavenderblue19
The 30's film is L'Homme Les Folies Bergere- Maurice Chevalier, Natalie Paley,Sim Viva, the 40's film was THAT NIGHT IN RIO- Don Ameche, Alice Faye and Carmen Miranda, the 50's film film was ON THE RIVIERA- Danny Kaye, Gene Tierney, Corinne Calvert. I've seen 2 of the 3 films. Very rarely shown on TCM,the Danny Kaye version, last time I watched it on TCM was 3 years ago.
starliteyes
I was actually looking for the American version of Folies Bergere de Paris with Maurice Chevalier, Merle Oberon and Ann Sothern, but you are still correct because there is a French version. Very good, lavender. Your thread.

lavenderblue19
Yes,ALL ABOUT EVE and APPLAUSE. Anne Baxter took over the role of Margo Channing when Bacall left the show. Bacall won a Tony for this. I thought it was interesting that Anne Baxter got to play the Margo role this time around, rather than the Eve role. Your thread finance
