DownGoesFrazier
A very famous American author wrote a 20th century novel. There were two classic film adapatations, one with the same title as the novel, and a later one with a different title. The later one adhered more closely to the novel. Titles of the two films? cujas
Theodore Dreiser--"An American Tragedy" was the novel and title of the first movie starring Philip Holmes. The 2nd was "A Place in the Sun", directed by George Stevens.
DownGoesFrazier
If I didn't give it to you, you'd have my head......But I don't consider Dreiser to be a "very famous author", and does A PLACE IN THE SUN adhere more closely to the book than the earlier film? I was thinking of Hemingway's TO HAVE AND HAVO NOT and THE BREAKING POINT. Your thread.
cujas
Fi--I've got the degree in literature and rest assured that Dreiser is a giant in American Lit--not my opinion, but that of literary criticism. As for your head, I'm sure it would look good over my fireplace, but you'd better keep it because you play this game so well. As for the thread, I don't want you to feel threatened. So I won't take it. Fi--you can have it back or have it open.

MilesArcher
There was an actor who was in many westerns who was also a ventriloquist. In fact, he often had his dummy, Elmer, with him. Can you name this "B" western sidekick with a wooden sidekick of his own?
