DownGoesFrazier
Robert Young is correct, but he ws one of several male stars of CROSSFIRE. I was thinking of THEY WON'T BELIEVE ME. Your thread, Miles.
MilesArcher
Thanks. A well known movie, and later TV, star first appeared in movies as part of a musical group. When he first received billing, his name was Dick Weston. Later, he changed it to the name he became famous with. Who do we know him as?
mudskipper
A lark, by any other name, would sing as sweet...take your pick: Leonard Slye, Dick Weston, or Roy Rogers and "The Sons Of The Pioneers"...
MilesArcher
Muddy, you old buckaroo, you got it! The Sons Of The Pioneers appeared in several early Gene Autry movies before Roy became a star. Leonard Slye was his real name. For several years the group was billed as Bob Nolan And The Sons Of The Pioneers. Bob Nolan had helped form the group with Roy in the mid-thirties. Nolan wrote a lot of songs, including "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" and "Cool Water". Your turn, skip.

DownGoesFrazier
This '30s film co-starred two actresses, one younger and one older. Both were coming off of landmark films. For the younger actress, her previous film had made her a star. For the older actress, the previous film was a career peak. .....What was this follow-up film and who were the two actresses? DownGoesFrazier
Not THE WOMEN. The film was on TCM more recently, it is not as well known as THE WOMEN, and it was earlier in the '30s. Edited by: finance on Aug 30, 2011 5:52 PM

allaboutlana
Here's are some movie quotes to identify, all spoken by the same character: Name the speaker and the film. Of course, they are more effective and memorable spoken by the actor. "If they think I'm going to clean it up, they got another thing coming." "Right in the middle of the afternoon." "It wasn't that kind of brawl." "What would I do with a gun!?" Hint: The actor in question was more famous as a tv actor, than as a movie star. And, the movie was taken out of the director's hands and edited, and was seen during SUTS. Edited by: allaboutlana on Sep 1, 2011 1:28 PM

allaboutlana
You are correct. Dennis Weaver was a hoot in his role in *Touch of Evil*, and I wanted to share some of his most memorable lines, that really come alive when he says them. Your turn. pturman
Yeah, I loved Dennis in that movie. I said it in another thread & I'll say it here---Dennis Weaver in TOUCH OF EVIL looks like Harrison Ford in INDIANA JONES to me. I think it's because they both have on similar hats. Guess if I was more technologically savvy I would find stills & post them on the LOOK ALIKE thread & you'd see what I mean.
