lavenderblue19
Yes, Mitchum and Marilyn's husband Jim Dougherty worked at Lockheed together before Mitchum or Marilyn became famous and yes *River of No Return* is the film they were in together. Good and quick work. Back to you.
DownGoesFrazier
This actor and actress got along very badly during their one co-starring film. For years afterwards, he was publicly ripping her . Actor? Actress? Film?
DownGoesFrazier
Hint: The film was an early-'50s film.

DownGoesFrazier
I don't mean "literally" a big mouth. I mean "figuratively" a big mouth.
lavenderblue19
During her interview with RO a few years back, Betty Hutton talked about mean Howard Keel was to her while making the film *Annie Get Your Gun* . Betty Hutton and Howard Keel?? Also, your clue almost sounds like it could be Ethel Merman ?
DownGoesFrazier
Not it.. The actor continued to badmouth the actress for years. Remember that the movie was not successful, one of the least successful films that either was in.

DownGoesFrazier
No. Once again, this was NOT a successful film.
FranklinPangborn
lavendar, I was thinking of Ethel Merman, too. "There's No Business..." wasn't a success when it was released, but I can't picture Donald O'C, Dan D or Johnny Ray fueding with The Merm.
DownGoesFrazier
The actor that I'm thinking of, you can picture him fueding with just about anybody.
lavenderblue19
I just had an ahha- Robert Mitchum and Shelley Winters in *Night Of the Hunter* ???- even tho it's now regarded as a fabulous film, at the time it did not do well at the box office. lavenderblue19
So, which one am I warm with? Shelley was known to have a big mouth and Mitchum was known to fight and speak his mind. Either one? DownGoesFrazier
Bingo. They fought through the whole shooting, and for years, the only woman Sinatra defamed more was Dorothy Kilgallen. Yours, Lana.
allaboutlana
Thanks. According to their male costar, two actresses in this early1950s film did not get along, and in one altercation, one of them smacked loudly on a lollipop during a closeup take of the other actress, trying to distract her. This led to a fight on the set, which the male costar says the all-male crew watched for a few minutes, letting it go on, until finally someone stepped in to stop it. Name the film and all the players. Edited by: allaboutlana on Dec 1, 2011 1:52 PM
FranklinPangborn
Wild guess.... JOHNNY GUITAR - Joan Crawford & Mercedes McCambridge?
allaboutlana
Joan is right, but the film was made before *Johnny Guitar.*
lavenderblue19
Love this film *Sudden Fear* - Gloria Grahame did that lolipop trick to Joan. Probably added to the tension needed between them for the film. Edited by: lavenderblue19 on Dec 1, 2011 3:20 PM
allaboutlana
*Sudden Fear* is one of those examples of films that they just don't make 'em like they use to anymore. Period. Your turn.
