musicalnovelty
First time I've posted on this thread. So I'm not sure, but it appears that a question on any topic is okay. So, here's one: In the 1931 MGM short THE CHRISTMAS PARTY most of MGM's biggest stars come to a Christmas party for Jackie Cooper. Who did MGM get to play Jackie's mother? musicalnovelty
> {quote:title=FranklinPangborn wrote: > }{quote}His real mother? Correct! That lady playing Jackie's Mom in those opening scenes in the kitchen is his real-life mother. I've never actually seen this documented officially anywhere, but have stills of Jackie Cooper with his parents and that's the same lady (and when you see her performance in the film, you KNOW she ain't no professional actress!) FranklinPangborn
I've seen it several times...she seemed sincere. One of Hollywood's most famous sex symbols made a comedy that is considred by many one of the 10 best movies ever. Top talent in front of and behind the cameras. Our star was arguably at her most alluring. It was unknown during filming that the star was pregnant and by the time the film had wrapped and they were doing promo materials, the star's famous body wasn't the one seen on the molvie posters. It was her stand in/body double. Sadly, our star lost her baby.
mudskipper
[Marilyn Monroe|http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000054/] was pregnant during the filming of "Some Like It Hot", as a result she looked considerably heavier. She had no known children and several miscarriages in her life. Due to her pregnancy, most of the publicity still photos were posed for by both [sandra Warner|http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0912581/] (who had an uncredited role as one of the band members) and Monroe's frequent stand-in [Evelyn Moriarty|http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0605348/] with Monroe's head superimposed later..
