lavenderblue19
Yes ma'am I do. Roberta Shore. Ha, Didn't everyone accuse poor Annette of stealing her bracelet at a party, when she first came to town???? LOL. Not nice to Sandra in Summer Place? Roberta and her mother saw Sandra and Troy kissing on the street and told Sandra's evil mother about it!!! We're old cujie, and corney! But I did love the Annette series and you know I had a crush on Tim Considine

cujas
Well, I suppose everybody liked Tim Considine. But when "My 3 Sons'" Chip came into the picture, I kind of fell for him and comforted myself by eating chocolate chip cookies on Fri nites when the show was on. Lav Girl, it's all yours! I should have been a little more specific, I meant poking fun at Queen for a Day. Dolores Gray is hilarious in this one.cujas you got there first, your thread. cujas
She started out as a child actress in classic Hollywood movies; then she moved on to "classic" Sci-Fi 50's fare--only to end up a frequent guest star on classic TV series like: Rawhide, Perry Mason and Gunsmoke. My favorite role for this actress was as the daughter of Jane Wyman in __________________. Need I say more?
lavenderblue19
Gloria Talbott - *All That Heaven Allows* ??
cujas
Lav--I've always admire Gloria for her beauty and talent. She was a real-all-round TV actress. Lavender--You are definitely a woman that I can count on!
lavenderblue19
Thanks cujas, that was sweet. Gloria Talbott a very familiar face to baby boomers. Remember that ponytail and bangs and glasses as Jane's daughter! next: 2 A+ Legendary actors actively sought roles in 2 famous films. Each was cast in the film the other actor wanted to star in. Both are late 50's films. Actors and films????
cujas
The only thing that comes to mind is what I read in Tab Hunter's autobio. Hunter had played Jimmy Piersall on TV and confided to his close friend, Tony Perkins, that he was trying to do the movie version. Next thing he knows, Perkins is announced to star in "Fear Strikes Out"--the movie of Piersall's autobio. For Tab I don't know--Tony Perkins had all the great roles in the 50's and early 60's--all I can think of is "Damn Yankees"--about the biggest thing Hunter ever did. lavenderblue19
Thanks for giving it a shot. With all due respect to Tony and Tab, the 2 actors I'm thinking about were much bigger stars. One film was a romantic comedy, the other was a romantic thriller.
lavenderblue19
In both films, the co-stars leading ladies were blondes.

DownGoesFrazier
Stewart wanted NORTH BY NORTHWEST. Grant Got it. Did Grant want BELL BOOK AND CANDLE? Stewart got it.
lavenderblue19
Yes, Cary Grant wanted and actively sort after the role of Shep in *Bell Book and Candle* . There's an interesting story about Jimmy and NBNW. While Stewart and Hitchcock were filming *Vertigo* , Hitchcock discussed the plot with Stewart. Stewart thought that Hitch was telling him about the film because he had intended on casting Stewart. Hitchcock finally realizing that Stewart thought he was going to get the role had a problem. Hitch wanted Cary Grant for the role. He didn't want Stewart disappointed, so Hitch postponed production of NBNW and waited until Stewart was cast in *Anatomy Of A Murder* . Hitch then offered Stewart the role and he had to turn it down. Hitch then cast Grant in the role of Roger Thornhill. Cary wanted Bell Book and Candle Jimmy wanted North By Northwest. Good work finance. Your thread.
DownGoesFrazier
The same trio of male actors co-starred in two well-known classic films within a short period of time. While two of the three are legends, the third is barely remembered today. The three actors? The two films?
mudskipper
There's Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Jules Munshin from "On The Town" and "Take Me Out To The Ball Game"....unless you're thining of a different trio.

lavenderblue19
Immediately thought of an old hearthrob of mine, Ricky Nelson as Colorado in a great film *Rio Bravo* Omar Sharif as Colorado in *Mackenna's Gold* Maybe someone else can get the extra credit part. Good question, mudskipper. Edited by: lavenderblue19 on Apr 28, 2012 6:15 PM
