mudskipper
The third movie was "Yellow Sky", a very gloomy western starring Gregory Peck, Anne Baxter, and Richard Widmark....Your thread, Dilly.
lavenderblue19
Thanks. There is a 50's film that has a scene taking place in a country setting. The sign hanging in front of a general store says WIGGS EMPORIUM. Under that it says HIGHWATER POST OFFICE.Can you think of the film? lavenderblue19
What immediately comes to mind would be the chilling scene of Mildred in a wheelchair, Richard Widmark tied her to the chair with the phone wire wheeled her to the top of a large staircase and bye, bye Mildred! *Kiss Of Death* ??? FranklinPangborn
True, but not it. Something appears in all the films. All the studios recycled things, these movies all used the same recylcled "things."
lavenderblue19
Not so easy to remember details like that about the 4 films. In all 4 I believe there is a large staircase to the left of the set? Ha, they probably all had glass seltzer bottles on a bar??
FranklinPangborn
It's the entry and staircase that Auntie Mame came breezing down. It was built in 1949 and used in all the films below and even more...Bright Leaf, So Big, Lucky Me, Spirit of St. Louis. Another movie is Laura - the art objects in the gallery turn up in lots of pictures. You'll be watching a movie and say, 'Oh, wow - i know that statue." Your turn, lavender A You Tube video of the re-appearing staircase: www.*youtube*.com/watch?v=61xwm0QDrqQ
lavenderblue19
Yes, what I have noticed many times in Warner films is a table lamp. It was used countless times in restaurant scenes. I do remember that in Ocean's 11, the house Peter Lawford's mother and Cesar Romero live in has a huge staircase, Rossano Brazzi's place had a staircase that Suzanne Pleschette walks down, Tea for Two in Doris' and SZ Sakall's mansion there's a huge staircase ( I recently sold my home and had a smaller version of that staircase with a stained glass window at the top of the stairs and the same mahoney railing) and in Parrish, Karl Malden's mansion had the huge staircase. Good thing I've seen all the those films. I haven't got a question at the moment, someone can jump in in the meantime.
