She won an Oscar for "National Velvet", and she was nominated for "The Song Of Bernadette" and "Gentleman's Agreement". You know, Lavender, you and Ann Revere have something in common. She was Elizabeth Taylor's mom in *National Velvet* , Gregory Peck's mom in *Gentlemen's Agreement* and Jennifer Jones mom in *Song of Bernadette* . She was nominated for each film and won for Best Supporting Actress for *National Velvet* . Yes Miles, she grew up in NY and attended Wellesley College A direct descendant of Paul Revere.
