harlowkeatongirl
Yes it was Shirley. He was pretty hot, wasn't he? That's a great suggestion. I just submitted one for a Buster Keaton day.
joycefrith
to harlowkeatongirl: another good movie is The Lost Weekend with Ray Milland. You just had to feel for the guy. He was trying, but fighting a losing battle. I guess I like movies that show the dark side of us.

mandarinparade
One of my favorite movies with Burt Lancaster is "Come Back, Little Sheba". He is not showy like "Elmer Gantry" but there is raw honesty in "Come Back, Little Sheba" that doesn't put Burt's character in a good light, but is so valuable to see. My favorite movie of Burt Lancaster though is called "The Swimmer"; this is mainly all Burt with some terrific supporting work; when I watch this movie I feel as though this is as close as I can come to understanding what drives artists; not that I get the impression that Burt is acting in it--quite the contrary.
