I belonged to another classic movie forum for a few yrs. and the host was let go and now the forum has gone crazy with no policing. Anyway I love classic movies, I adore TCM and my fav. movies are Hitchcock's old British films, Astaire Rogers musicals, Bringing UP Baby is my fav. movie and Garbo my fav. actress. I love Cary Grant and Hepburn also. Just wanted to say hi. This forum is great. Lots of very informative people.

Just scan the topics and feel free to join in and express your opinions, tell us about your favorites and participate in our trivia games which can be fun.

Welcome Prekgranny! It's wonderful to have you with us, and please don't feel intimidated by anyone or anything here. I kind of felt the same way when I first registed (about a year ago), and promptly learned that just about everyone here is more than happy to make you feel welcome and also share their knowledge with you. Because you are a teacher, I know that you place a high value on "learning", and you're sure in the right place for that when it comes to film-making, Classic Films, and the stars of the Golden Era. I bet that you also have lots of things to share with us, so please don't hesitate. And, dear....just so you'll know, I'm a "granny" too, and I know of at least one "grandpa" here, if that helps you feel a bit more comfortable. Enjoy yourself! :) ML

Granny, WELCOME from another new member who has been stumbling his way around for about a week or so and finding nothing but interesting, imaginative people, who, incidentally, are my favorite kind. I'm a great believer in people being mature enough to police themselves on a message board and thus far it seems that everyone here fits that description so I hope you won't encounter any troubles like the ones you did at the last forum. I don't feel "Classic" film has a date it needs to be measured by, or any other similiarly limited criteria. There is over a hundred years of classic film to be discussed, so please feel free to post anything you like. I only ask that you please, please, please never give away endings to movies unless you indicate that you are doing so in the beginning of a post.;) Otherwise, the only rules I propose for you are simple: Have fun and enjoy yourself!

Welcome! Believe me when I say you don't have to be an expert here just a fan. I found these fine folks here over a year ago and always learn something about the classics and not so classic everyday. Some advice: when you step on someone toes they will cry and moan but it will be all forgotten by the next thread. That's what make everyone here so (as they say in the oldies) SWELL!
