Looking for old cartoon

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to find an old cartoon without much luck.

An egg, the chick inside pops out its two little legs but the egg doesn't crack any further. It wanders off and gets lost on a mountainside in stormy weather.

I don't think it ever hatches all the way.

I remember this so clearly from when I was little, and would like to see it again because of the classical music score.

That cartoon sounds like BOOBY HATCHED from 1944, Warner Bros. cartoon directed by Frank Tashlin. The half-hatched duckling is named Robespierre, and the classical music is from "Fingal's Cave" by Felix Mendelssohn. I don't remember if Robespierre hatches at the end of the cartoon or not, get the LOONEY TUNES GOLDEN COLLECTION Vol. 4 and go to Disc. 2 and find out for yourself.
