War films of a different sort.

Recommended Posts

These are cold war films that I liked because of the intrigue and insidious actions of cold war thinking.

The Manchurian Candidate (the original)

7 Days in May

Fail Safe

Dr Stranglove (not intriguing but insightful to cold war thinking)

I think another good "cold war" movie is *The Spy Who Came in From the Cold*.

And if you count spy spoofs, *Funeral in Berlin*. ;)

IMHO, The Hunt For Red October was one of the finest Cold War Films ever made.

The Bedford Incident is pretty good as well.

And for really *bad* cold war movies, I heartily recommend Red Zone Cuba. Truly horrible.

I never heard of Red Zone Cuba so I guess that says alot in itself. I agree with the others through. I thought about Torn Curtin being cold war but it is not really a favorite of mine. Maybe Seven Days in May though.
