silentmovieguy
Did anybody notice that last sunday, they were going to air Alfred Hitchcock's "Champagne", but instead they aired Hitchcock's "Easy Virtue". Very weird! Robert Osbourne didn't even host it. Maybe he called in sick that night and he couldn't host? I'm very surprised that nobody has said anything about it. By the way, I'm new here. EDIT: We're sorry that "Champagne" wasn't able to be aired on Sunday. We received a version of the scheduled silent film without a score and didn't want to show the film incomplete. We replaced it with another Alfred Hitchcock silent, "Easy Virtue" ('27), and plan to show "Champagne" at a later date. Sorry for the confusion! coffeedan1927
Nick and I commented on this over in the Silent Films folder. The short answer is that the distributor probably sent them the wrong movie. For the long answer, go to the Silent Films folder in the Genre Forums. zombi6422
What actually happened is that they received the print of Champagne from France and it had no score. They decided not to play that and another silent Hitch was put in its place.
Guest
If that was the case, they should've just had Bob Osborne hum a tune over it.
brackenhe
I could only make it through about 15 minutes of the movie they substituted because of the poor quality and the lack of dialogue cards to explain the action. I normally love silents but didn't like this one.
