sweEt_Mauritius
I just want films from people who were stars but who are usually neglected by TCM. Like was a Katharine Hepburn day last year really necessary??? On the other hand, the Marie Dressler day was inspired, enlightening, and just plain awesome. Some of my choices: Ruth Chatterton! Pola Negri Janet Gaynor Ronald Colman Gloria Swanson Marlene Dietrich Miriam Hopkins Mary Pickford Olivia de Havilland Glenda Jackson Maggie Smith Leslie Howard Franchot Tone Charles Boyer Alice Brady Aline MacMahon Maureen Stapleton

Film_Fatale
Has "Summer Under the Stars" ever featured directors? Not sure, but it does sound like a good idea. If they included directors in SUTS, I'd love to see a day dedicated to Fritz Lang, William Dieterle, and also Nicholas Ray.

smokey15
I agree with "Sweet Mauritius". Please, no Katherine Hepburn this August. We see enough of her. It was a rare treat to get a day with Marie Dressler as we did last August. I was glued to the TV all day that particular day. Even took a day off from work to make sure I'd be around to not only tape but watch. More seldom shown stars especially pre code stars would be much appreciated.
PrinceSaliano
Yes, Marie Dressler was a treat...as was Laurel & Hardy. Bela Lugosi would be another good choice. However, his best films were made at Universal.
