dennix
Hello, I'm looking for the title of a great medieval knight movie, probably from the 1940's or 1950's, in which there is a tournament with an extremely long duel (maybe 10 minutes) without any spoken word or music. The two knights start out on their horses with their lances and shields. With every run they lose parts of their armour and finally end up on foot, fighting each other with knives, I think. You hear the sounds of the horses and the arms clashing beautifully. The tournament is in a small stadium with of course a beautiful lady next to the king. One of the knights is the king's representative and the other one is our hero, wanted by the king's troops, who has subsribed anonymously (I think in a black outift?). In the end of the fight, his true identity is revealed but since he has won they can't touch him. This is what I remember. Does this ring any bells? Many thanks in advance!
