Boy, they say things come in three's. First Anna Lee and now Tony Randall. Didn't expect this one at all. Next? I hope not! We have lost so many beloved actors. Randall was a very funny man who was so effective in the Day-Hudson comedies of the 50s & 60s. His best role was in the offbeat George Pal flick SEVEN FACES OF DR. LAO wherein he played all 7 characters with the help of makeup artist William Tuttle.

He was still active, I mean wasn't he featured in last year's "Down with Love" ?....Great actor...who will ever forget him in those great Rock Hudson-Doris Day Comedies. Another huge loss. Very good comedian. Hope things doesn't come in three's this time..

Tony Randall great actor the broadway theater will miss him but we will certainly keep Felix in our hearts and

minds whenever we do housework or clean an ash tray,or have sinus problems .....condolences to wife, his children, friends and co-workers. As Tony would say

"Hamlet anyone"?......now he's playing to a heavenly

audience standing room only, with a standing ovation!....

"Well done Tony well done"!.......

How do you measure all the laughs that this man has given us? His intelligence, wit and accomplished acting will be dearly missed. I hope that some readers caught the Larry King tribute last night (Tuesday,May 18th). It included his friend Jack Klugman, Stiller and Meara and others. At the end of the program, they ran a brief clip of Tony in 1997, as King's guest, stating that there were two things he always longed for all his life: one was to have children and the other was to belong to a repetory company. "Who knew," he asked, "that both would happen to me after age 70?". A wonderful man, who had a wonderful life, well lived.

Thanks for the update about the tribute to Mr. Randall, Mongo. CNN is planning on running another Larry King appearance by Randall and Jack Klugman on Sunday night at 9pm ET.

After reading today's obits about Randall, I was not aware of his earlier work on radio and then starring on B'way in many distinguished plays with such stars as Ethel Barrymore and Katharine Cornell. What an amazing career!

I'm terribly saddened at hearing of the loss of Tony Randall. I always saw him as the "glue" that held many a movie together. And, here again...too bad that TCM never got around to doing a "Private Screenings" with him.

Thanks Mongo for letting us know when TCM will do a Tribute to this wonderful man, and thanks to Moira for letting us know that for those of us who missed Larry King last night, we will get a second chance on this coming Sunday night to catch it. ML

well i'm late but i have to post how i liked Tony Randall especially the roles in the Day and Hudson movies. Especially humorous is his role in Send Me No Flowers the Hudson character thinks he is dying and he lets his best friend played by Randall know and the information about Kills the Randall character he can't sleep, can't eat drinks like a fish and his lines are hilarious. he was the glue that held the movies together. However as Felix, the Felix character got on my nerves but Tony played it well. when i saw the movie version it was strange to see Jak Lemmon playing Felix who my mind says only Randall could play Felix he was more believable to me in the role than Lemmon. but it was hilarious when Lemmon, as Felix, went to the window to try to commit suicide at the begining of the movie and couldn't open the window and thus to oscar's he goes. I miss Lemmon too and Matthau.
