NO! NO! NO! "The Terry Theme" that Chaplin's son Sydney plays in LIMELIGHT is ETERNALLY, not SMILE! ETERNALLY also the films main title theme, was originally recorded by JERRY VALE. SMILE from MODERN TIMES not LIMELIGHT, was a NAT KING COLE song in 1953. Although TIME-LIFE insists in it's Fabulous '50's adds that the original artist was JOHNNY MATHIS not NAT KING COLE! Well TIME-LIFE is wrong! SMILE made top 10 in 1953 or '54 for NAT KING COLE first. In fact it's one of the very first songs you associate with NAT KING COLE right? In addition, SMILE was tied to the re-issue of MODERN TIMES in 1953. Even A year after his exile, this proved a very successful venture for Chaplin. Incidentally both songs are on TIME-LIFE's FABULOUS 50's COLLECTION!
