apespecnet
I'm new here, but found this forum in my search for information about a sort of vaudeville-ish short that TCM played on May 28 between "Farewell to Arms" and "Sabateur." There was a blonde singer who captivated my husband and I (resembles modern singer Deborah Harry) and we're going crazy trying to find out who she is! If anyone has any information, please email! Apespecnet@aol.com Thank you for your time! April in Ohio

a2vitaphonefan
I forgot the title but it was with The Duncan Sisters. The first sequence had a song about graduation, then the second part of it looked like a reworking of their Topsy and Eva minstrel act.
apespecnet
Thanks for the responses - am happy and amazed that someone would know something so obscure! Thank you!! Right, we just caught the very end and they were dressed in Civil War outfits and one of the girls was in blackface and the other was a blonde dressed up like a young girl. They were singing a duet and an older woman in Victorian outfit was reprimanding them about something. We really didn't get the gist of the thing, only catching the last few minutes, but were amazed at how this songbird looked like our favorite singer Debbie Harry, and she had a great voice! My husband loves movies and actors from the 1930s and was surprised he'd never seen this gal before. We'd love to learn more about her. The Duncan sisters? - might do a yahoo search! Cheers!
