When I first saw the film, I thought she was Sister Ruth in "Black Narcissus" (Kathleen Byron). IKWIG is a film I like better and better each time I watch it. Then there was a sequence with this maid, German I think, and I couldn't figure out who was playing the maid. I recorded the film so I studied the tape, and to my surprize I finally figured out that this is the same famous actress, using a completely different persona, accent, and way of acting. This told me that her famous self is itself an act. So, she was always acting, even when doing personal appearances. She basically played one role all of her life.... her famous self. The guys who flirt with her when she is a maid are Russians. She is spying on the Russians. I've looked up most of the Russian men in the credit list, but there aren't many photos of them as actors, so I can't tell who it is. This is a very good movie. Like you, I can only go back to Jan 6th, however I can see all the pages in between.
