Oh, that face, that fabulous face. Whose is it?

Recommended Posts

No. The girl in the b&w photo below - her name sounds like she

could have been a 50's teen singer - she's a silent actress.

Dabb,

Wow, you got me puzzled. All I can think of is Olive Borden and Mary Nolan and it sure doesn't look like either of them. Borden was a good sized Star for awhile. How about Lilli Damita? Though it doesn't look very much like her either.

> {quote:title=Filmgoddess wrote:}{quote}That's me about 50 years ago. Where'd you get the pic?

I lost the link to this pic. Check your mailbox for another.

Not Anna Lee - sorry. Here she is again

The newest 'it girl' she never made it - left us at 34.

A Ziegfeld girl - heart attack from alcohol abuse.

Huh? All I can think of is Lyla De Putti, Sue Carol, Nancy Carrol and Virginia Bradford. All very unlikely to be this actress. And I don't think any of them died that soon?

How about Doris Hill? She was a beauty from Roswell New Mexico. Just take a gander at her in THE BETTER OLE'. Holy Toledo!

I've already mentioned Olive Borden. It looks nothing like her though. Plus she was never groomed to replace Clara Bow. She was a rival. "The Joy Girl" at Fox. Staying with Fox, couldn't possibly be Mary Duncan could it?

I'm assuming she's a Paramount Star, not Fox.

The previous pic of her is hard to locate and doesn't look like most of hers.

How about a different view - this is from her Wiki-page

This is the same girl that's in the last b&w pic

Dab,

Wow, that really helps allot! I already mentioned Virginia Bradford. I don't know a whole lot about her, but she was gorgeous as the cleaning lady in De Mille's CHICAGO (1927). I think she was at Paramount for a time.

Where do you get this idea that the lady was supposed to replace Clara Bow? How about another Virginia, Virginia Gadsen?

Twinkee,

Not even Close. Renee did die at age 34 though. Adoree started her career in films at least two full years before Clara Bow did. Looks nothing like her.

I know it does not look like her, but then, they change their hair & makeup and who knows.

I went by the fact that she died at 34, same as the gal in the pic. :)

How about Dixie Lee? Give us something more to go by. For instance, was she a Wampas Baby Star? And what year? Say 1926, 27, or 28?
