Kid Dabb
No on Mitchum. This guy's from a little earlier - came up through the silent era, all through the 1930's, and a couple 40's. He was in a couple of 30's films that revolved around airplanes - with some upcoming bigger names.

Kid Dabb
I thought this pic looked 'motherly' enough, just a bit, to fool some of the people all of the time, and some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people.

JamesJazGuitar
Richard Barthelmess was the husband of Rita in the movie. (assuming you remember Rita was in the film). His part was one of the top 4 or so parts in the movie. i.e. a key role as it relates to the plot. But he was somewhat wooden so maybe that is why you don't remember him. Only Angels Have Wings is one of my favorite films.
