FredCDobbs
She was famous. You know her name. She made a lot of movies that little boys liked. Rita was for big boys. This girl was for little boys.

Kid Dabb
Not Clara Lou Sheridan aka Ann Sheridan - sorry, BigPink {quote:title=twinkeee wrote:}{quote}She doesn't look to me that she was for "little boys" (is there such thing) ? twinkeee - I grew up watching her too; with her husband in the movies and TV. They're a nice, wholesome bunch. Very well known people.(shame on fred - for digging up such a picture )
FredCDobbs
The films she was in were made mainly for little boys. I went to see the films and I thought she was really cute. Girls like Rita and Lana in movies were were more for adult men when I was a kid.

FredCDobbs
No, Canadian isn't "foreign". The lady is from Europe. This is the only photo I've been able to find of her 1938 trip to Hollywood, where she was mostly ignored, although she was famous in Europe. twinkeee
I would think that Canada is 'foreign' to the US, you need a passport to cross the border. Either way, it is not her.
FredCDobbs
I crossed the border into Canada in 1949 and I didn't have to show a passport. There was no border checkpoint. Just a sign that said something like "Welcome to Canada". But with crazy terrorists in the world today, we have to use passports. Anyway, this girl was German. She began as a silent actress then later became a director. A lot of people in Hollywood hated her when she visited in 1938.

FredCDobbs
TCM aired OLYMPIA and TRIUMPH OF THE WILL about 15 years ago. I was able to record them. They are very rare on American TV because they are boycotted and blacklisted.
FredCDobbs
Here is another cowgirl. That is John Wayne on the left. The girl is very famous today as a silent an pre-code actress. But by 1938 she had changed her image and her hair style.
