Warner Archives Discussion

Recommended Posts

SHOW BOAT, Irene Dunne. (This release is a major disappointment as I thought this would come in a box set with the other Show Boat films and possibly even in Blu Ray. Now it looks like it will never happen with this film being dumped with other archive titles. One only hopes the 1951 film will be released on Blu Ray.)

obrienmundy, I do not see a pre order for THE BIG HOUSE. In fact, I see nothing listed for tomorrow's date as of 3/10. I never list preorders since it can change or additions made to the list. I have been listing the DVD-R's on the date of release as there is really no reason to preorder as price is the same. I thought I was doing a pretty good job listing new releases for the Warner archives for quite some time now. If it makes you feel good to list the DVD-R coming out for the archives then go ahead.

That's ok Obrien. No need to apologize. I had been listing the new releases for the archives for sometime now. I just felt no need to duplicate info. You were right about *THE BIG HOUSE*. Its a triple feature. Did not realize the info came from MOVIES UNLIMITED. If you happen to see something I missed do not hesitate to list it. Also due, 3/11

*AMERICANIZATION OF EMILY* (50th anniversary) Blu Ray edition.

5/13 Releases:

Finally!  This has been a glaring hole in my Myrna Loy collection for so long; my favorite of her collaborations with Gable, I somehow manage to miss recording it whenever it airs.

I'll probably take a fresh look at Parnell, too; I never thought it was as bad as its reputation.

The next WB Archive headed to Blu-ray is "Out of the Past" starring Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum.  The release date is still to come.

Out of the Past was a RKO picture.    So WB Archives re-masters non WB pictures?      As for the movie,  lets not forget about Jane Greer.
