*Paul Thomas _Anderson_* - An American film director, screenwriter, and producer. He has written and directed five feature films: Hard Eight (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999), Punch-Drunk Love (2002) and There Will Be Blood (2007).

 

He has been nominated for five Academy Awards?There Will Be Blood for Best Achievement in Directing, Best Motion Picture of the Year, and Best Adapted Screenplay; Magnolia for Best Original Screenplay; and Boogie Nights for Best Original Screenplay.

*Sean S. _Cunningham_* - An American film director, producer, and writer.

 

He is best known for creating the Friday the 13th series of horror films, which introduced the fictional killer Jason Voorhees. He also produced many horror films, such as Wes Craven's debut feature and House film series.

*Egoyan,Atom -* A critically acclaimed Armenian-Canadian independent film maker. His work often explores themes of alienation and isolation, featuring characters whose interactions are mediated through technology, bureaucracy or other power structures.

 

Egoyan has directed a dozen full-length films, several television episodes, and a few shorter pieces. His early work was based on his own material, and he received some notice for the film _Exotica_ (1994), but it was Egoyan's first attempt at adapted material that resulted in his best-known work, _The Sweet Hereafter_ (1997), which earned him universal critical acclaim and Academy Award nominations for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

*Edmund _Goulding_* - A British film writer and director. Goulding is best remembered for directing cultured dramas and such as Grand Hotel (1932) with Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford, Dark Victory (1939) with Bette Davis, and The Razor's Edge (1946) with Gene Tierney and Tyrone Power. He also directed the classic film noir Nightmare Alley (1947) with Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell, and the action drama The Dawn Patrol.

*Rex _Ingram_* - Film director, producer, writer and actor. Legendary director Erich von Stroheim once called him "the world's greatest director."

 

In 1925, Ingram and Fred Niblo directed the hugely successful epic Ben-Hur, filming parts of it in Italy. He and his wife decided to move to the French Riviera. They formed a small studio in Nice and made several films on location in North Africa, Spain, and Italy for MGM and others.

*Stanley _Kramer_* - An American film director and producer responsible for some of Hollywood's most famous "message" movies.

 

His notable films include The Defiant Ones (1958), On the Beach (1959), Inherit the Wind (1960), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), Ship of Fools (1965) and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967).

 

His work was recognized with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award in 1961 and during his career has been nominated for Oscars 9 times.
