Jake's off topic music thread...

Nice eighties mix, Jake. XTC is my favorite band from the eighties. *Skylarking* is an amazing album (oops, CD) with strong Beatles influences without being a mere copy. Produced beautifully by Todd Rundgren.

Jf,

I must admit I don't remember XTC but from what I have heard, they might be interesting to listen to some more...

By the way, since I've been doing this, I've found myself buying some bargains at Amazon.

I just bought an album from the The Romantics called The Romantics, used, in very good shape, we will see, for less than seven dollars.

I really like that band...

Here's one I know you like and so do I...

Yeah! Love em! Thanks Jake.

XTC was really more of a studio band, and they are quite experimental, some of their songs are really cynical and dark, while others are beautiful descriptions of love and/or nature. They are really strong in the writing, and that is what I like most about them and others like Elvis Costello....

AH. The Police.... that's a great song you picked. I love Stewart Copeland.... Everyone always goes for Sting, but I am a big Copeland fan.

Here's *Invisible Sun* and *Every Little Thing She Does is Magic* from the same album (oop. I mean CD. You'd think after how many years? I could remember to call them CD's)

I've been revisiting "The Equalizer" and Copeland wrote nearly all the music for that series. He had an interesting take on the show and how to fit the music. It is very 80's but good stuff. Great theme.

Couldn't hardly tell you anything about The Police though.
