Jake's off topic music thread...

Recommended Posts

One of my favorite lines in music is in that song. "And I need you more than want you. And I want you for all time...."

Jimmy Webb is one of the most fascinating songwriters. If you don't know much about him check out his album "Ten Easy Pieces." A new way to listen to "Galveston" and "The Worst That Could Happen." His voice is not to everyone's liking but he gives a unique interpretation to his own work.

>I don't care for the Supremes, but Rita is awesome.... I remember listening to this album over and over, with my ear pressed up against the speakers..... I guess I'm lucky I didn't go deaf....

Good Morning JF,

That's what makes life interesting...our differing tastes..I really do like the Supremes but, like anything else, they are not for everybody.

Love your posts and, as I said earlier, the thread is wide open and I am gonna post another great Beatles' song from the same album.

Have a great day...

>Hey, how did we do the seventies without these guys? This is my favorite Eagles song.

Good point...we could have stayed in the 70's for months or a year or more or any decade for that matter.

Hey, now we can roam as we please and you are right: the Eagles might have been the biggest band of that decade and their all time record sales are through the roof. I believe they are in the top 5 for all time record sales.

MY favorite Eagles...I know it is one their most played but I believe for a good reason...it is very good...

Whenever I hear Tequila Sunrise, I want to hear this one next:

I always thought the double bill of Eagles and Stephen Bishop would have been good. I found a version of one of his biggest hits, with America touch...

and for the purists:

That's enough for this decade for me, JH. I'm looking elsewhere, after I get some cleaning and writing done.
