Iconic actor and Oscar-winning director Robert Redford, who is retiring from acting with his new film THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN, will join the film's director David Lowery and TCM's Ben Mankiewicz on October 12 to discuss three films as part of TCM's guest programmer series. The films Redford and Lowery have selected are: Redford's vehicle THE CANDIDATE (1972), Dustin Hoffman's STRAIGHT TIME (1978) and INVISIBLE STRIPES (1939) with a cast featuring George Raft, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden.

Currently an evening of Christopher Lee films are scheduled for the 10th. Are they moving things around?

A typo on my part. That should be the 12th.

Okay. Previously the 12th was supposed to feature "Early Years Biopics." I guess that will move to January. Now the 12th is listed as "The Old Man and the Gun" (a reference to Redford's new picture).

No guest programmer is listed for November. Though we might guess the night of TCM Backlot Picks on the 21st is sort of like a guest programmer evening.
