sewhite2000
It was blank on the schedule months ago and still blank as I look it up just now. Anyone have any ideas what's going to air?
speedracer5
They're airing a selection of the films chosen in 2018 by the National Film Registry. I believe that the list will be announced on Wednesday.
musicalnovelty
It may be unlikely they'd reschedule it already, but one title that might be shown on Wednesday night is KING OF JAZZ (1930). It was originally scheduled for Dec. 11 but later replaced by STAGECOACH. Reportedly KING OF JAZZ is to be rescheduled, so let's see if it shows up on Wednesday night, Dec. 12.

I think a little clarification might be in order here, Rich. So, are you talkin' about the Eddie G. Robinson flick or that Bobby Vee video? Also My Fair Lady and Days of Wine and Roses frequently show up, so they might be it too.

cmovieviewer
Thanks TopBilled for posting the schedule. Just wanted to add here for those that might be curious - according to MovieCollectorOH's report, the only TCM premiere in the list is the first short - 'Hair Piece' (1984). The rest have been seen before on TCM. 2

kingrat
Does anyone else find One-Eyed Jacks a bizarre choice for the National Film Registry? Some of the films mentioned have cultural importance apart from the quality of their filmmaking (Monterey Pop, for instance), and even The Shining has found its way into popular culture, Hud is one of the films that created Paul Newman's screen persona, Hearts and Minds represents the anti-Vietnam War movement, etc. Broadcast News represents the Bill Clinton Era, where the person with the thick Southern accent can now be seen as intelligent, though I'm afraid that not many journalists today would see anything wrong with the behavior by Wiiliam Hurt which the film condemns.
