there are enough thermonuclear ICBMs stockpiled to destroy all life on earth 150 times over.

why aren't climate change nuts worried about that?

:)

More concerned about major volcanic eruptions to chill down the Earth like in 1816.

I'm assuming climate activist will demand a law against eruptions - man is that all powerful.

".........There are many examples in ExxonMobil’s advertising materials and other documents right up to 2019, all doing the same thing: Deflecting attention away from the oil company’s role in fueling climate change by supplying fossil fuels and turning attention toward consumer demand for, and dependency on, its products.

We now have a comprehensive view of this strategy, thanks to a new peer-reviewed study by Harvard research associate Geoffrey Supran and Harvard science historian Naomi Oreskes in the journal One Earth. In a painstaking analysis, they show how hard the oil giant has worked to keep the conversation about climate solutions focused on the consumer, effectively individualizing responsibility for the problem.

“Never before has it been proven that fossil fuel propaganda is demonstrably one source of where this [consumer- and demand-focused] mindset has originated from,” Supran told Vox.

Blaming the individual user, rather than the producers, is a well-worn tactic of other industries with dangerous products, including tobacco and firearms...........

The message Supran hopes people take from his work isn’t that your actions don’t matter.

But governments need to take responsibility and hold the major polluters accountable — and those policies include a broader mix of solutions that limit the fuels Exxon can extract, axing pipeline projects for transportation, limiting its opportunity to export around the world, and even make companies pay for the damages caused to vulnerable communities.

“This is cutting-edge propaganda coming from an industry with 100 years of experience in pioneering the art of public relations,” he said. “And people should be aware of what they’re subject to, because otherwise it gets into our bones without us even knowing where it came from.”

climate change has been a fact for most of the earth's history.

Yes you don’t get it.  HUMAN ACTIVITY is causing the current climate change, with disastrous  long term results to survival of our way of life.  But as long as you can keep your gas guzzler and plastic straws, who care about the planet we leave to your grandchildren.

I wonder how liberals are gonna handle the firing of all those thermonuclear ICBMs that will turn the entire surface of the world into a lethal irradiated charnel house.

that will be some kind of real fun.

:D

Well that’s an intelligent remark.  Don’t worry about climate change when we are going to nuke ourselves!?!?

every weapon of warfare ever devised by men has been used including the atom.

human history suggests that nuclear war is not a possibility but an inevitability.

so how can the secular-minded have any hope beyond nuclear annihilation?

it all ends with the launching of all those ICBMs.

our future is being reduced to irradiated tapioca.

can you prove they won't be?

Heroshima and Nagasaki have kept humanity in check for 76 years with a thermonuclear sword of democles hanging over the world's head but how long will this respite go on?

the united states, Israel, soviet Russia, pakistan and india with more inductees possibly coming like iran and of course terrorist cells wanting a nuclear dirty bomb.

how long before the respite ends?

the above reason is a good reason not to disbelieve in God.

belief in God affords hope beyond thermonuclear obliteration.

the secularist who believes that everything ends with the bomb can have none.

this is called basic human intuition.

The purpose and reasoning (if one can call it that) in having nukes is it's the perfect deterrent, one has to be M.A.D. to use them.

A dirty bomb only spread radioactive material within the targeted area, won't affect the climate at all.

Of course terrorist getting their hands on a nuke to destroy a city wouldn't either, one prophecy "Babylon 5" haven't come true...YET..

It’s called MAD for a reason:  Mutually Assured Destruction.  This won’t be on the level of one or two targeted Japanese cities.  This would be hundreds raining on each side’s strategic site and hubs of power, all within minutes of each other.  This should kick up enough debris into the stratosphere that the Nuclear Winter will descend over the planet; Krakatoa and similar massive volcanic eruptions will pale in comparison.  Besides the untold millions killed in the initial blasts, tens of millions more will die shortly after from the radioactive toxicity.  All supply chains will be totally disrupted, and hundreds of millions will starve to death....all within the first few years.  Plus the drastic change to the planet’s climate will alter life forever.

The only leader of a country that possesses a nuclear armament who has thought of using it has been Donald Trump, an utterly imbecilic deranged madman with his pronouncements of “What is the use of having nuclear weapons if we can’t use them”!!??!!   DUH!!!!

Utah governor bans fireworks on state lands, orders more watering cutbacks amid severe drought

"Yellow lawns will likely be the norm for the summer as Utah Gov. Spencer Cox issued his third water restriction in four months on Tuesday with the state suffering under unprecedented drought conditions.

He also announced a ban on fireworks on all state lands, including in parks, as well as on private lands in unincorporated areas of Utah. Hundreds of wildfires have already been sparked this year, most human caused.

“We are moving out of the pandemic and we’re headed right into another disaster,” Cox said at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

More limits on watering lawns at state facilities

Cox’s executive order requires lawn watering at northern state facilities to be reduced to two days per week. A previous order allowed watering three days per week, which is still permitted at southern properties...........

Last summer was the driest ever logged in Utah and Nevada since record keeping began 126 years ago, with August the hottest on record in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

Experts at the Natural Resources Conservation Service place mountain snowpack runoff at anywhere between 25% and 75% of the usual average. Rivers are reportedly at 50% of normal flow, with reservoir storage sitting at 15% lower than June 2020.................
