So it's returning to the way it was when the Vikings first landed on it before the Little Ice Age.

During Little Ice Age to present                          Before...... 982 AD under Eric the Red

You really don’t get.  The melting ice sheets in the polar areas are going to result in rising sea levels, flooding coastal areas the world over.  Additionally the dark ponds of meltwater absorb heat much more than the white ice, which is reflected back into space.  The huge fires in Russia and elsewhere, as the permafrost melts, will release trapped carbon into the atmosphere; this will accelerate the global warming thereby, getting into an ever increasing cyclical pattern.   The earth is imperiled, and your Fat Orange Nero golfs while the Arctic burns.

Do you really don't get, nature will DETERMINE how the climate changes, not man. Is he planning to tax the sun - per sunspot?

Who caused the Medieval (Global) Warm(ing) Period??

What part of MAN-MADE CLIMATE CHANGE don’t you understand!?  What happened in the past had nothing to do with what man is now doing in the Post-Industrial Revolution phase.  Human activity is accelerating climate change much faster that almost any climate event in the past.   The worst part is we (mostly) accept human responsibility in this, and can change things to slow it down, but Idiots in position of power refuse to do anything.  Pathetic and dangerous.

What Was the Climate in Ancient Rome?

https://www.reference.com/history/climate-ancient-rome-8b8a7bb9aa98f68

Summers normally EXCEEDED 95 degrees.  Winters a mere average 55?

Florence, not that far from Rome today...

Beautiful-winter-cityscape-of-Florence-w

It's the trapped carbon over the bloody polar caps and the rising temperatures in the oceans that is the difference .  Wake Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is FLORENCE, not Rome.  Climate change is not a continuum from cold to hot, but leads to a destabilization or disruption of long-stable global patterns.  You may as well pull the stunt of that idiotic GOP house member with the snowball.

Oh the one Al Gore said will be gone in 2013??

Obviously some governments not run by worthless do-nothing ostriches beholden to fossil fuel industry have placed policies to try to slow down the effects of climate change.  This year, this summer, the accelerating effects of the changes is becoming more and more obvious, and alarming.

The oceans are reaching a tipping point where it will be difficult to sustain life.  Point to that in the last few thousand years.

Oceans Started Warming 135 Years Ago, Study Suggests

Date 2012!

https://www.livescience.com/19414-oceans-warming-135-years.html

Temperature / sea level rise has been going up constantly since.

This start of increase seems to be a couple decades the mini ice age ended.

Rate of rise slowed to a crawl started 8,000 years ago and has been minimal since.

Again, you are comparing apples and oranges.  This is ridiculous.  You are parroting what your side does.  Use charts and graphs of real events, and somehow apply them to your arguments.  This is pseudo-science used by science denyers.

Man-made climate change is not the same thing!!!  So if sea levels basically have stabilized 8,000 years ago, that would be after the massive rise at the end of the last ice age......a naturally occurring event.  Human activity since the start of burning fossil fuels in earnest is what is causing the current global warming.  135 years is a good bench mark of the start of this.  But in the last 2 or 3 decades, these changes are becoming more severe and are beginning to feed on themselves.

I get you toe the party line; fossil fuels is what we do, we cannot be inconvenienced to change our ways if only for the salvation of our planet; our being the planet’s stewards means we can continue to crap on it.....our resources, finite and unrenewable, will be infinite because we can extract the last drop of oil from the last bit of shale.  WHAT WE WORRY!   This is untenable in the short run, and fatal in the long run.

Scientist may be very likely wrong (DUH) where the oil came from to begin with, may not be finite.  Coal has been villified and power plants shutting down if you haven't heard. HAPPY???

Big industry has been polluting our land, air and water in this country the better part of 2 centuries.  There is still some heavy industry here.  And in case you don’t know, these contaminated lands don’t clean themselves.

your Orange throwback of a President continues to allow the most sensitive areas of our lands to be opened for exploitation, in the oceans”, in the arctic, in the arctic oceans.   But the damage has already been done.  Your president wants to do it even faster, so some cronies can make billions and he can get huge contributions.  And whatever the case, your ignoramous of a “leader” claims he is bringing back coal.  Or don’t you believe him?!

I think deprogramming a scientologist or cult member would be easier.

This Land Is the Only Land There Is

Here are seven ways of understanding the IPCC’s newest climate warning.

........the major new report on climate change and land, a summary of which was released today by a United Nations-led scientific panel.

Chief among them: For everyone who lives on land, the planet’s dangerously warmed future is already here. Earth’s land has already warmed more than 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.6 degrees Fahrenheit) since the Industrial Revolution, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. That’s the same amount of warming that climate activists are hoping to prevent at a global scale.

This spike makes sense, scientifically: Land warms twice as fast as the planet overall......

“People currently use one quarter to one third of land’s potential net primary production for food, feed, fiber, timber and energy,” the IPCC says. .....

at some point in the coming century—as more forests are felled and as demand for beef grows—this gift could become a curse, and the land will spew greenhouse gases into the air as ferociously as humanity does today.

Even before that reversal, this report confirms that the ill effects of climate change will arrive faster than scientists once thought...........

that people who live on such a planet will face a “very high risk” of famine, water scarcity, and mass vegetation die-offs, according to the IPCC. Some of the people who will see that planet have already been born.

7. Let’s return to that one astonishing fact: that humans have integrated as much as one third of photosynthesis on land into the global economy.......

It makes clear that climate change isn’t only about coal-fired power plants, or gas-guzzling cars; and it’s definitely not about littering or—God help us—recycling.

It’s about the profound chemical and physical specificity of human life. You and I are not free-floating minds that move around the world through text messages, apologetic emails, and bank deposits. We are carbon-based creatures so pathetic that we need a lot of silent plants to make carbon for us. ........

Brazil: Concerns grow over burning Amazon as probe launched

Brazil's Bolsonaro says government lacks the resources to fight record number of fires burning in the Amazon rainforest.

"Federal prosecutors in Brazil said on Thursday they will investigate a spike in deforestation and wildfires raging in the Amazon state of Para to determine whether there has been reduced monitoring and enforcement of environmental protections.

The investigation announced by the prosecutors' office in Para follows a surge in fires and destruction of the Amazon rainforest that experts blame on reduced protection of the environment under right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro.

Drone images showing the magnitude of the fires have prompted global outrage,....
