A Night At The Movies

Recommended Posts

I believe they only show the Christmas edition (that's the only one I've seen in a long time.)

What are some of the other movies they'd show on that program?

They had ones for: Epics, Horror, Thrillers and Christmas. They're really enjoyable, too. I wish they had continued with more genres. Here's a link that explains the series further.

It does seem like a nice series, but they misspelled Stephen King's name!

" Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is releasing original specials from A Night at the Movies, the network's ongoing series of documentaries exploring different movie genres. Available Aug. 18 exclusively through TCM's online store – shop.tcm.com – TCM Originals: A Night at the Movies will include four memorable specials featuring extensive movie clips and commentary by Hollywood insiders: The Suspenseful World of Thrillers (2009), The Gigantic World of Epics (2009), Merry Christmas! (2011) and The Horrors of Steven King (2011)"

Nice catch; I didn't even notice that!

Before TCM  All three major networks had their "Night" At The Movies series, usually once a week on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night.  Naturally cut up for commercial space.  Openings began with a shot of a brilliantly lighted marquee.  You could almost smell the popcorn.
