GordonCole
What a bang up duo from last night on TCM. Gotta say that though there is only a year or so difference in age between Nicholson and Stockwell, Dean sure looked a lot more like a young hippie from the 1960's than Jack did, due to his receding hairline and just general appearance in Psych-Out. Moving on then to Wild in the Streets, it seemed very relevant oddly to current times with people coming out of the woodwork to run for political positions, who are criticizing the old guard in Washington. When Max Frost says during his campaign something about voting in a senior citizen for president and all you have to decide is which way to place his wheelchair, it seems prescient in some ways. Enjoyed both of these films as much as I did in the late 1960's when I first viewed them at the drive-in.
rayban
"Psych Out", which seems to ask the question, "Whatever happened to Susan Strasberg?" She began with such promise with, on-stage, "The Diary of Anne Frank" and, in film, with "Stage Stuck". According to a new bio of James Dean, she would have been the mother of James Dean's only child. But, with the help of her mother and Vincente Minelli, she aborted the baby. However, she did marry Christopher Jones of "Wild in the Streets" fame. And she did have a baby with him.
