Moorman
This was pretty good. Henri-Georges Clouzot is one of my favorite directors. Yves Montand ( Mario), Charles Vanel (Jo), Folco Lulli (Luigi), and Peter Van Eyck ( Bimba) are stuck in the small of Las Piedras with no funds to escape their poor existence. A fire at a American oil field is running out of control and the company decides to stop it by using nitroglycerine. Instead of using their own employees because of fear the union wouldn't allow it they decide to hire and train drivers. The aforementioned men decide to apply for the job to transport the dangerous chemical and use the payment as a means to leave Las Piedras. The plot follows their tense journey that the men take to accomplish this task. The plot start very slow but gets going once the men leave the town. There are some good moments though while they are still in town that help set up the second half of the film. The cinematography is fabulous here. I rate this a solid 8 out of
