100% on all the answers!  Here's what's left...I'll give some clues if no one guesses

5. "Just the two of them now, the babies have all grown up and moved to Los Angeles, or somewhere."

7. "Bye Nick"

8. "The way we're swimmin', old girl!"

9. "I was gonna buy you a tie clip or some shavin' lotion or something, but I didn't know what you'd like."

12. "Honey, I'm sorry--I did the best I could."

I'm taking a wild guess at Humphrey Bogart in "The African Queen"

some hints:

5. "Just the two of them now, the babies have all grown up and moved to Los Angeles, or somewhere."   spoken by a man who received his first Oscar for the role...to an actress who also won for this film

7. "Bye Nick"  an actress..her only win in the acting category

9. "I was gonna buy you a tie clip or some shavin' lotion or something, but I didn't know what you'd like."  an actress, this was her first of two Oscar wins as lead actress..the other was five years later

12. "Honey, I'm sorry--I did the best I could."  actress..her third nomination, first win...she didn't come to the ceremony to receive the award (but was camera ready at home..)

I keep thinking Henry Fonda in On Golden Pond, but I'm not sure.

Fonda is talking to Katharine Hepburn about a pair of ducks in the water

9. Sally Field in Norma Rae..Field's first Oscar..it wasn't until her second that she thought people really 'liked her'..

only 12 is left..she's speaking to another actress who got an Oscar nom for the role..3 actresses got nom's for this pic. She has another 'final scene' with an actor, but doesn't speak.  This actress was in films almost 20 years before she got this, her first, Oscar nom...after this she got 2 more, but no wins.

That's her!  Joan propped herself up in her 'sick bed', called for her makeup artist and hair stylist..and accepted the award like a trooper!Related image

That's a wrap! thanks for playing!  and in the final words of Robert Redford in The Candidate:  "What do we do now?" 🤔

  • Thanks 2
