Robert Mueller submits Russia report

This says Barr isn't even going to send a redacted version of the full Mueller report.

HE's going to write a summary of the Mueller report, and send that instead.

We don't even know how long the Mueller report is. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/26/us/politics/mueller-investigation-watergate.html

-does he think the Judiciary & Intelligence committees are too dumb to decipher all the legalese??

  <_<

" He is not a politician, but an outsider who has come under fire simply because he says what he says without much of a filter. I would rather have that than the past 50 years or so of politicians telling me stuff, mostly lies about what they believe in and or want to promise us."

The part about him not lying is true at least. He is quite up front with who he really is. ;)

So I take it from this comment that you support the general idea that everyone who voted for Trump over Clinton IS a racist?

trump said that there are good neo-nazis.

Do you think the Central Park 5/ birther was lying when he said that? Or do you think he was actually believing that statement?

Do you think supporting a birther is supporting racism?

Do you think all of trump's negative comments about black intellectuals and political officials are just jokes?

Do you think enabling a racist makes someone a racist?

But as my old Pappy used to say,

ignorance is bliss but what you don't know can hurt you -- in fact can hurt you a lot. LOL

Economy is booming, more people are working now more than ever, Black and Hispanic unemployment way down, more women working today than ever before, companies doing much better,

Figures in the UK on these issues are just as good and as we all know the UK is currently suffering economically due to Brexit.  (Replace Black and Hispanic with ethnic).  Europe is also doing well.   What I am trying to say is that in general Presidents get too much credit and obversely criticism for the economy.  I think virtually ANY GOP President would have had the same economic impact as has had Trump.  That goes double for the credit Trump has received for court appointments.

On other issues I would argue he is an unmitigated disaster and knowing now what his true hateful bigoted character is it is just plain wrong to continue to support him.  Get another Republican candidate!

Trump supporters (and others) understandably enjoy a booming economy. But to turn a blind eye to his moral outrages (racist comments, separating families, attacking a dead war hero and Gold Star families, etc., etc.) is to lower the moral standing of a nation that supports this man.

Come on, America. You're better than this! You'll have to show it, though, in 2020.

On the subject of the booming "Trump" economy we should note that he missed a golden opportunity to marginalize China's economic influence when he backed out of the Trans Pacific Trade Agreement.  That was the principle motive behind that agreement but Trump was just too blinded by having to rip up everything Obama did for egocentric reasons.

The stock market rally was really halted by Trump's trade tariffs which were designed to do what the above Trade Agreement would have done without tariffs.  There is little wonder Gary Cohen resigned.

Oh and let's not forget the mega-ballooning trillions in deficit mainly due to Trump's billionaire tax cuts.  The growth that was supposed to pay for this is just nowhere in sight.  But don't worry, Trump will steal it from medicare next.  This is a buffoon that went bankrupt 5 times yet people still believe the myth fostered by tv people that Trump is some sort of business genius.  I think it will come out that the only reason he is afloat is through money laundering from Russians.

Heck, they shut down the Trump charity just this year because he was siphoning off money given by suckers for his own benefit.  He is a charlatan extraordinaire!

Man, just so much hate for Trump here. And yet no one can justify the ways Obama separated America when he became president. He is the real reason why we are at where we are now. If Obama had done what he had said he was going to do when he was running for president in 2008, by becoming a unifying force for good for all Americans, then I really do believe the nonsense we are seeing today would not have happened. But instead Obama switched course and decided to pit American vs. American simply based on his belief that America was wrong about everything he supposedly stood for.

Donald Trump is a boorish, morally-bankrupt con artist with the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old who surrounds himself with incompetents and criminals while trashing environmental regulations, weakening international relations with everyone except for tyrants and dictators, ballooning the deficit while cutting taxes on the ultra-wealthy (while at the same time instituting a tax rate set to rise for the middle class), wasting billions of taxpayer dollars to subsidize farmers crippled by Trump's trade war, gutting healthcare while failing to provide an alternative, and eliminating consumer safety measures designed to protect against predatory lenders, Wall Street bankers and for-profit education centers.

Because Obama.

The Canadians here are mad because Trump beat them in the trade fight, and they can no longer rip us off like they did during the Obama years. That's why they never talk about their own country, because they can't. It's third world vs the greatest nation. I'm surprised they don't sneak in here like everyone else, then claim they have rights.

Trolls? Are you suggesting that those of us who believe in Trump are TROLLS???

Here is an idea...

Since both sides of this argument is going nowhere really fast... and both sides believe in what they believe in and no one is either willing to accept what the other side has to say about Trump, and or Obama, why not just end this silly conversation?

I don't think he was referring to you, rey, as you at least attempt to discuss the issues and state your point of view, in your own words, in a mostly reasonable, non-combative manner. That's not true of most of Trump's supporters in this thread, and I believe that was who Tom was referring to.

As to the pointlessness of the discussion, you're 100% correct, and it's the chief reason that I try to avoid these threads, along with the attendant animosity it breeds between people who are ostensibly at this message board to discuss a shared love of film.

You take offence a little too quickly, fxreyman. The troll comment was intended solely in regard to the poster quoted who constantly goes out of his way to knock any poster who is Canadian (unless, like darkblue, they support Trump). It seems to be the only comeback he has whenever Trump is criticized.

You say you don't like the kids in cages bit ... you don't like the racial bigotry bit ... yet you STILL support the scumbag?  Why don't you find another Republican to get behind instead of this dolt.

I probably should have rephrased my comment there Tom and I am sorry if I may have written something before I engaged my brain. I appreciate your comments , but again the main reason why I suggested that we end this discussion is that due to the strong feelings on both sides of this issue, we should all calm down (as John Wayne said in McLintock!).

Totally agree and as I have just responded to Tom, if I owe an apology to you and or others here, please accept it.

As I have indicated before earlier today, I think that in order to move forward, everyone needs to understand that we all believe in what we believe in. You and I will never agree about Trump and that is the way it is. So as I wrote earlier, since neither side of this argument is ever going to convince the other side that they are right and the other side is wrong, why not just end this now BEFORE message board friendships become too damaged and or irreparable. Agree?

Has another Republican decided to challenge Trump in the up coming GOP primary?   If yes,  I must have missed the announcement.

But if NO,  then there isn't another Republican for someone to support (vote for) and for those that desire a Republican President over a Dem one,  they have no choice but to 'support'  (vote for),  Trump.

I'm hoping for this 'another Republican',   but I don't think anyone will challenge Trump (especially now based on the 'results' of the Mueller investigation).

Well there could be another Republican candidate if Republicans started to speak up and say that a President shouldn't act this way.  Shouldn't be vile, shouldn't be a bigot, etc., etc.  If Republicans voiced dissatisfaction with his absolute abhorant behaviour then it may give rise to a challenger.  But Republicans have abandoned their own morals by continuing to support Trump no matter what comes out about him.  Paying off porn stars?  Yup, he's the guy for us.  What a complete joke.
