There's some indigenous people here that has bitter resentment with the Columbus landing thing. That's over 500 years.  Unknown if Columbus groped anyone while in school, certain some progressives are researching.

Since I'm not an indigenous person nor of any kind of indigenous descent, I don't feel as though I have a right to denigrate or laugh at their feelings about their history, their culture, and their ancestors.

These groups have brought up some viable issues about our history and our historical evaluations of the Spanish Conquest of the New World.

Decimating or Holocausting  a whole culture of people it's nothing to laugh at. It's a serious issue no matter when it happened in history.

I'm not laughing just making an observation.

Fortunately for the native people of what is now the United States the murderous thug

Columbus never made landfall here. Who knows how many would have been added to

his body count if he had.

Don't worry, the British, Spanish and even French who did make landfall made up for it.

Moments after Pompeo blamed Tehran for attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf,

Trump rebuffed the prospect of diplomacy with Iran https://politi.co/2Rg8LpP

Trump's new, unbearably slow-moving scandal: him waiting to take us to war w/ Iran

until he's about to face the music.

We're like Titanic passengers seeing an iceberg from 50 miles off and gathering on deck to scream together for 50 miles while taking no action to save ourselves.

Early this morning [2:42AM ET], GOP Rep. @mattgaetz and Dem. Rep. @ElissaSlotkin said that in private presentation, the Trump admin, specifically Sec. Pompeo, argued how, in Ms. Slotkin's words,

"the 2001 AUMF might authorize war on #Iran." Chilling.

The Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), Pub. L. 107-40, codified at 115 Stat. 224 and passed as S.J.Res. 23 by the United States Congress on September 14, 2001, authorizes the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the attacks on September 11, 2001 and any "associated forces".

Intelligence Experts Question Iran Video: 'U.S. Track Record on Ginning up Evidence for War is Not Good'

...... "One has to keep asking the question, well, if it isn't Iran, who the hell is it?" Anthony Cordesman, a strategic analyst at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told Newsweek. "You come up with the possibility that ISIS carried out the attack as trigger to turn two enemies — the United States and Iran — against each other.

Or you're watching Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates create an incident that they can then use to increase the pressure on Iran." .....

why are they the liberals so scared sheetless of an impending conflict with iran?...

because even they know that within the minds of liberal americans beats an inherited pride and belief in the intrinsic goodness of America.

something that democrats have long feared since the end of the Vietnam war era.

so we may attack iran. the democrats gonna run to the UN to get a statement of condemnation against their own country?

no...watch! biden will embrace it with reservations.

.@BarackObama negotiated an agreement that was blocking Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

@realDonaldTrump tore it up.

He’s now sending 1,000 troops to the region as Iran moves towards enriching uranium.

This President’s bad judgment is moving us closer to another war.

Don't forget he was the only president to label the Republican National Guard as a terrorist organization so he could punish any country or company that does business with them.  They do a lot of international business as they own much of Iranian resources.

As part of cancelling US participation in the nuclear deal, Trump now has the right to penalize any country or company that deals with Iran.

Not defending Iran, but Trump hit them three times before they responded.
