yanceycravat
Does Donald Bogle teach a class on Black Cinema in the LA area? I've met him at the TCM festival and had some nice conversations with him. I always enjoy his appearances on TCM. I think it would be interesting to take a class if he offers one. Thanks!
jakeem
He teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. But he apparently also spends considerable time in Los Angeles, so anything's possible. His brand-new book for Turner Classic Movies is "Hollywood Black: The Stars, The Films, The Filmmakers." The foreword is by the late filmmaker John Singleton.
yanceycravat
Thanks. Yes, I've been aware of the book for several months now. I've been catching up on my TCM Intros from the last week. I am always keen to hear what Donald Bogle's opinions on film are.
